How the pension is calculated in Italy
For anyone who started working after 1995, the Italian pension is fully contributory. Every year 33% of your gross salary is credited to a notional pot (montante), and at retirement the pot is turned into a yearly pension with a conversion coefficient that rises with age. The pension is paid in 13 instalments.
